Meet The Pigs

Meet each of the Stubby Pigs and find out more about their personality & backstory 🐷
  • Tiny Tim

We found Tiny Tim in 2020, confined to a dog crate in someone's home. This neglect caused his trotters to deform, and he suffered from Mange, a condition that took over six months of medicated baths and injections to clear up. Today, he's now an extremely happy pig, living happily with his own piggy family. Pumpkin, another one of our pigs, is his piggy wife, and together they have 36 piglets! Two of these piglets we still have, including Trousers and Polly Pocket. 🐷

  • Pumpkin

We rescued Pumpkin from a place overcrowded with other neglected pigs. She lived in her own filth without bedding, shelter, or clean water for the first five months of her life, with minimal human interaction. It took nearly a year of care and attention to bring her to where she is today. Originally thought to be a Juliana miniature pig, we suspect she has wild boar lineage, as there was a wild boar on the farm she was rescued from. Since then, she has mothered four beautiful litters of piglets with daddy Tim, and now she enjoys fresh walks and bathing in her pool. She is also the proud mother of Trousers, her eldest son, and her daughter, Polly Pocket. 🥰

  • Trousers / Big Boy

Trousers ( AKA Big Boy ), holds the title of being the first piglet born here at Stubby Pigs. Not only is he the most chilled personality among our pigs, but he has been the best big brother to his sister Polly Pocket, the youngest piggy we currently have. Trousers has grown to be the largest pig we own and is proof that miniature pigs don't always remain small, as he has grown larger than both his parents, Pumpkin and even Tiny Tim! We made the decision to keep Trousers since he was the first born and our dog Jess immediately formed a strong bond with him, becoming a loyal companion as he grew up. 🐶

  • Polly Pocket

Polly Pocket, the youngest member of our piggy family at Stubby Pigs, is the daughter of Tiny Tim and Pumpkin, and the little sister to Trousers ( Big Boy ). Even though she is just over a year old, Polly Pocket has already made a name for herself as a superstar, having appeared on BBC news and radio shows. With her being the youngest, Polly Pocket loves getting into mischief. She recently gained viral fame on TikTok after getting stuck in a barrel while attempting to steal a chicken egg. She is the most playful by nature, and is often seen zooming, spinning in circles during our piggy walks. Polly Pocket was the last piglet born before we made the decision to have our boars castrated, focusing instead on mini pig rescue cases. This decision was made since we noticed an increasing number of pigs being abandoned and listed on sale sites that weren't selling or finding suitable homes. ❤️‍🩹

  • Polkadot / Dottie

Polkadot ( AKA Dottie ), was rescued from a farm where she endured cramped conditions among too many pigs who bullied her. Her back was bare due to constant aggression, leaving her with numerous bite wounds. Additionally, she suffered from lameness due to standing in her own waste without any dry area. The lack of visibility from her living space made exploring the woods during our piggy walks a true adventure, allowing her to learn things she should have experienced years ago. Despite being 2 1/2 years old, Polkadot is now on the path to a brighter future. ☀️

  • Our Stubby Pigs Breeds:

    Juliana Breed:
Originating from Europe, the Juliana breed is known for its small size and colorful spots, resembling a miniature version of larger hogs or feral pigs rather than pot-bellied pigs. Juliana pigs should have a lean, athletic appearance, being longer than they are tall, and should never appear pudgy, heavily wrinkled, or sluggish. Mini-Juliana pigs are characterized by outgoing and friendly personalities, displaying high intelligence and often emitting various squeals and grunts.
    Kunekune Breed:
The Kunekune, a small domestic pig breed from New Zealand, is recognized for its hairy, rotund build and may feature wattles hanging from their lower jaws. They come in a range of colors, including black and white, ginger, cream, gold-tip, black, brown, and tricolored variations. Known for their docile and friendly nature, Kunekune pigs can be kept as pets in New Zealand and are considered a recognized miniature breed. Despite being unable to be imported into Australia due to biosecurity regulations, breeders have developed an alternative Australian miniature pig breed.
    Wild Boar:
An omnivorous and primarily nocturnal animal, the wild boar is closely related to the domestic pig. Historically exterminated from the British Isles during medieval times, wild boars were reintroduced from the Continent for meat farming purposes in the 1980s. Escaped animals established themselves in the wild during the early 1990s.
